September 26, 1626 – KJV Editor Lancelot Andrewes Dies

Lancelot Andrewes’ resume of positions and publishing were unrivaled during the reigns of Queen Elizabeth I and King James I of England.  He authored Private Prayers, which is a type of devotional, that has been in print for decades.  His greatest contribution was his role as director of the Hampton Court Conference that developed the King James Bible.  He died on September 26, 1626.
