October 29, 345 – Regulus Shipwrecked/Andrew’s Relics

A Greek monk named Regulus saw in a dream that the Apostle Andrew’s relics would be moved from his church in Patras, Greece, to Constantinople. Regulus absconded with the sacred bones and fled to Scotland, where he was shipwrecked on October 29, 345, at the site that would become the seat of the church in Scotland. This is all left of the Church of St. Andrew, built near the wreck’s site.
