Jeremiah Mahalu Kisula was the first bishop of the Africa Inland Church of Tanzania (AICT). Born in Sima, Mwanza, he initially dreamed of becoming a doctor, but after he converted to Christianity and was baptized on May 21, 1921, he dedicated his life to ministry. After hardships in his early ministry, he left the mission field but later returned with renewed conviction for lost of souls. He was officially reinstated in 1927. Kisula was ordained in 1939 and served in various capacities, eventually becoming the church’s first African Director in 1960. His life and ministry are considered fundamental to the growth and leadership of the AICT.
