Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Center for Christian History a 501 C3 organization?
Yes, it is a part of a network of wholly-owned non-profits under The Community Leadership Consortium (CLC). You can find the CLC’s IRS Determination Letter, EIN and GuideStar profile on the CLC website.
Will my donation or support of The Center for Christian History at Mississippi College be tax deductible?
Yes it is. You will receive a donation thank you and response letter.
How is the The Center for Christian History at Mississippi College governed?
We are governed by the board of directors of the CLC, an administrative advisory board made up of appointees by the president of Mississippi College and our content is vetted and closely watched by an international consortium of proven scholars who understand Christian history, church history as well as world history.
Is The Center for Christian History at Mississippi College a religious organization?
Our focus is helping others to better understand why things happened in Christian history, how things happened in Christian history, and what those impacts are. We are not an organization whose primary goal is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ although we certainly value and support that.
Are your scholars and advisory board strictly made up of those who are employed by Southern Baptist colleges and seminaries?
No, we are not. We focus on our scholars having an understanding about the authority of scripture, unquestionable scholarship, and the highest academic standards.
Why is the CCH@MC headquartered at Mississippi College?
Because MC is a Christian University and because of the need for a center to fulfill our mission statement. Mississippi College saw the opportunity for a center such as this to be a part of their ongoing mission and our founder Nick Walters is an adjunct history professor.
What are the primary objectives of the CCH@MC?
No matter whether a person is merely curious about Christian history, is a person who enjoys studying history, or is a committed Christian who wants to know more about the background and the history of Christianity, we will be a trusted portal of information.
What are the immediate plans of the CCH@MC?
Currently we offer a snapshot of what happened today in Christian history and have unique webinars and seminars planned throughout the year (stay tuned!). We expect by the late Spring of 2025 to launch a free online Encylcopdeia of Christian History and plans are underway for a journal of Christian history to be released in the fall of next year.
