December 16, 1944 – Betsie ten Boom Dies in Nazi Prison

Corrie ten Boom’s story of her family’s struggles in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation was well told in her book called The Hiding Place. In their efforts to hide Jews from persecution the family was raided and her sister Betsie was taken to the Ravensbruk concentration camp where she died on December 16, 1944. Corrie was imprisoned at the camp. This is a picture of Corrie’s room where the Jews and members of the Dutch resistance hid during Nazi raids.
